An Electro-Static Treater follows the same purpose as the typical Crude treater but can handle much large liquid volumes in a smaller diameter vessel. An Electro-Static Treater requires an electric power source. An Electro-Static Treater will be in the same place of processing sequence as the Crude treater, after separation and before Vapor recovery. In some cases this treater can be used as Bulk Separation. Electro-Static Treaters can also be called Electric Treaters, though an electric treater would mean a crude treater with an electric heating element. As stated, the electro-static treater can handle large volumes of water and oil, and can skim oil off of such volumes. If power is available or made available at a central gathering station this may be one unit that will greatly reduce your treating equipment needs.
