CONDENSATE STABILIZATION
Condensate Stabilization is a heat treatment of normally light gravity crudes such as 45 API and higher to remove the C5+ Hydrocarbon chains from the light ends to "Stabilize" the oil or provide an oil product under a 12 or 9 RVP preventing flash loss in storage and even in transport. Condensate Stabilization is a processing stage after crude treatment and upstream of storage, it would be in the place of a Vapor recovery tower. Condensate Stabilizers are also known as Oil stabilizers. Condensate stabilization can capture a light end y-grade oil product that is normally lost and prevent sales docks as some oil buyers dock per barrel if RVP is over 9 or 12 rating.
